Chicken Souvlaki Recipe

Chicken Souvlaki recipe is a tasty and easy BBQ treat. Kids love eating marinated pieces of chicken right from the skewer.

Ingredients:

  • 1 lb boneless chicken breasts
  • 4 Tbs olive oil
  • 4 tbs lemon juice
  • 3 cloves garlic (or more to taste)
  • 1 tsp oregano
  • ½ tsp basil
  • wooden skewers

Directions:

  1. Cut chicken into cubes approx. 1 inch square

  2. Mix all other ingredients in a bowl Add chicken pieces to the marinade and toss to coat. Cover and refrigerate for at least 2 hrs or overnight.

  3. Remove chicken from marinade and thread onto skewers

  4. Either grill or broil kabobs until no longer pink inside roughly 4 minutes per side.

Serving Suggestions:

I like to serve souvlaki with rice, Greek potatoes and vegetables.

Tip:

If you’re using wooden skewers, make sure you soak them in warm water prior to use.
