Crockpot Beef Recipes

Pepper Steak

This recipe is one of my favourite crockpot beef recipes. I hope your family enjoys it too!

Ingredients

  • 1Tbs olive oil
  • 2 lbs boneless beef top sirloin steak cut into strips
  • 4 cloves of garlic, minced ( or more if you like garlic)
  • 1 medium onion, chopped
  • ½ C soya sauce ( try reduced salt option)
  • 2 tsp sugar
  • ½ tsp ground ginger
  • ½ tsp black ground pepper
  • 3 bell peppers cut into strips (one green, one red, one yellow)
  • ¼ C cold water
  • 1 Tbs corn starch

Directions:

  1. Heat olive oil in skillet on medium heat. Brown steak strips. Add minced garlic and cook for couple of minutes, stirring.

  2. Transfer all including juices from the pan into a slow cooker. Add all ingredients except peppers, cornstarch and water. Mix well.

  3. Cover and cook on low setting for 6-8 hrs.

  4. In the last hour of cooking add the peppers. 15 minutes before dinner blend water with cornstarch until smooth. Add the mixture to the slow cooker and stir. Cook uncovered on high setting for 15 minutes or until desired consistency.

Serving Suggestions:

I like to serve this dish over rice, noodles or mashed potatoes.
