Easy Salisbury Steak Recipe

This is an easy Salisbury steak recipe that my kids love. The patties are soft and there is plenty of yummy gravy to pour over mashed potatoes.
My husband thinks this recipe is OK but he is not the biggest fan of it. As for me, I like it quite a bit, especially the abundance of mushrooms.
You can spice it up to your own taste but I do not recommend adding any salt as the soups have plenty of it.
Ingredients :
- 1 (10.5 oz) can condensed onion soup
- 1 (10.5 oz) condensed cream of mushroom with garlic soup
- 1 ½ pounds ground beef
- ½ cup dry bread crumbs
- 1 egg
- ground black pepper to taste
- 1 tablespoon all-purpose flour
- 2 Tbsp ketchup
- 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
- 3 cups fresh mushrooms, sliced
- 3 garlic cloves, minced, divided
Directions :
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.
- In a bowl, mix together 1/3 cup condensed onion soup with ground beef, bread crumbs, egg, 1 clove garlic and black pepper. Shape into small oval or round patties. I like to make the patties quite small for my kids.
- In a large skillet over medium-high heat, brown meat patties. Pour off excess fat. Remove meat and place in baking pan. In the same skillet, sauté mushrooms with remaining garlic, until soft.
- In a bowl, blend flour, remaining onion soup and mushroom soup until smooth. Mix in ketchup and Worcestershire sauce. Mix in mushrooms and pour over the meat. Cover the pan and bake for about 30 minutes or until meat is cooked through.
Serving Suggestions :
We like it with garlicky mashed potatoes and side of veggies.
