Beef Souvlaki Recipe

Beef is one of the meats you can use for souvlaki recipe. I personaly prefer chicken or lamb but this is nice change for this popular Greek dish.

Ingredients:

  • 1 lb boneless beef
  • 4 Tbsp olive oil
  • 4 Tbsp lemon juice
  • 3 cloves garlic minced (or more to taste)
  • 1 tsp oregano
  • ˝ tsp basil
  • Dash of salt to taste (optional)
  • Wooden skewers

Directions:

  1. Cut beef into cubes approx. 1 inch square Mix all other ingredients in a bowl Add beef pieces to the marinade and toss to coat.

  2. Cover and refrigerate for at least 2 hrs or overnight. Remove beef from marinade and thread onto skewers

  3. Either grill or broil kabobs until no longer pink inside roughly 4 minutes per side.

Serving Suggestions:

Serve with rice, Greek potatoes and vegetables.

Tip:

If you want more tender beef, marinate overnight.

If you’re using wooden skewers, make sure you soak them in warm water prior to use.
