Lamb Souvlaki
Lamb is one of the meat options for souvlaki recipes. Although I prefer chicken, lamb is a nice change for this popular Greek dish.
Ingredients:
- 1 lb boneless lamb
- 4 Tbs olive oil
- 4 tbs lemon juice
- 3 cloves garlic (or more to taste)
- 1 tsp oregano
- ˝ tsp basil
- salt and pepper to taste (optional)
Directions:
- Cut lamb into cubes approx. 1 inch square.
- To make a marinade mix all other ingredients in a bowl.
Add lamb pieces to the marinade and toss to coat.
Cover and refrigerate for at least 2 hrs or overnight.
- Remove lamb from marinade and thread onto skewers.
- Either grill or broil kabobs until no longer pink inside roughly 4 minutes per side.
Serving Suggestions
I like to serve souvlaki with rice, Greek potatoes and vegetables.
Tip:
If you’re using wooden skewers, make sure you soak them in warm water prior to use.
