Tuna Melts

Tuna melts are a great option for light dinner, on days that you do not have a lot of time to spend in the kitchen. You can use English muffins, buns or any type of bread, depending on your family’s taste.

Ingredients :

  • 2 cans tuna, drained (6 oz each)
  • ¼ - ½ cup mayonnaise
  • 2 pickles, finely chopped
  • ¼ cup celery, finely chopped
  • 2 tomatoes, thinly sliced
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • 1 tsp lemon juice
  • Pepper to taste
  • 6 English muffins ( or your choice of buns or bread)
  • 24 small slices cheddar cheese

Directions :

  1. Preheat oven to broil
  2. In a bowl, mix tuna, celery, pickles, mayo (add more or less depending on your taste), garlic, lemon juice and pepper
  3. Lightly toast English muffins in toaster
  4. Spread tuna mixture onto toasted muffins, place a slice of cheese on top, layer with tomato slice and place the remaining cheese slice on top.
  5. Place on a baking sheet and broil for 3-5 minutes or until cheese is melted.
