Tuna Melts
Tuna melts are a great option for light dinner, on days that you do not have a lot of time to spend in the kitchen. You can use English muffins, buns or any type of bread, depending on your family’s taste.
Ingredients :
- 2 cans tuna, drained (6 oz each)
- ¼ - ½ cup mayonnaise
- 2 pickles, finely chopped
- ¼ cup celery, finely chopped
- 2 tomatoes, thinly sliced
- 1 clove garlic, minced
- 1 tsp lemon juice
- Pepper to taste
- 6 English muffins ( or your choice of buns or bread)
- 24 small slices cheddar cheese
Directions :
- Preheat oven to broil
- In a bowl, mix tuna, celery, pickles, mayo (add more or less depending on your taste), garlic, lemon juice and pepper
- Lightly toast English muffins in toaster
- Spread tuna mixture onto toasted muffins, place a slice of cheese on top, layer with tomato slice and place the remaining cheese slice on top.
- Place on a baking sheet and broil for 3-5 minutes or until cheese is melted.
Serving Suggestions :
Serve it with any type of salad, yam fries or side of veggies.
